The Queen Mother in Charge of Young Ladies (MmabawaHemaa) in Asamankese Traditional Area of the Eastern Region, Nana Akua Arko I, has cautioned teachers to stop chasing school girls to fulfill their sexual desires.
She also warned the elderly who influence school girls with gifts and money for relationship to stop immediately.
Speaking at a sensitization program on Girl Child Education for Akanteng schools in the West Akyem Municipality organized by a Non-Governmental Organization, Facilitating Learning of Women in Emerging Regions (FLOWER) in collaboration with the Municipal Education Directorate, Nana Akua Arko I, called on school girls to report teachers and the elderly who are fond of such immoral acts to the police and Traditional Council for the necessary action to be taken against the culprits.

According to the Queen Mother, a teacher of Krofofrom is currently under investigation for allegedly impregnating a school girl, adding that she has been receiving reports on sexual harassment from parents and school girls which mostly involve teachers and called for collaboration to flash out people abusing girls’ rights.
The Municipal Director of Education, Madam Rebecca Ayisah expressed worry over the high rate of teenage pregnancy and school dropouts in the area and urged parents and guardians to complement the efforts of NGOs in curbing the menace.
She said parents must open up to discuss sex-related issues with their children, especially girls in puberty to protect them from being swayed by social challenges and bad influence.

The Chief Executive Officer of FLOWER, Madam Hellen Atta charged parents to provide the needs of their children to prevent them from following men and urged young ladies to not take advantage of their wants to give themselves to men.
