
FLOWER in collaboration with the west Akim Municipal Health Directorate conduct yaws case search in the communities and schools and management them using the azithromycin as the drug of choice within the west Akim municipality in 2013. This activity was supervised by the national yaws program manager, Dr Nasire Agana and his team.
The main objective was to find out how effective Azithromycin (Orally) could be used to manage yaws cases instead of the injectable benzathine penicillin.
This was a very successful program led by the Municipal Director of Health service, Abdul Ziz Abdulai and his team.
The program saw a very successful and positive outcome in the use of oral Azithromycin management for the management yaws cases
